Why I chose this topic
I chose this topic because of the impact video games have had in my life. Video games helped me deal with stress, boredom and most of all, video games allowed me to learn in many areas that I struggled in. Growing up, my parent's were not supportive of video games, and without any logical reasoning, they would tell me video games were bad for me. I thought that there had to be benefits to video games, and if anything, video games are not to blame for poor grades, or poor social skills. When I started high school, I never changed my video game habits, and yet I still managed to stay in the top 10 of my class. I began to realize that I wasn't the only one who was able to balance out video games and academics and ever since then, I have been interested in the science behind video games.
Building this website was a big learning experience. I learned about the affects of video games on brain activity. I was also quite shocked to learn that video games can help people with mental diseases and also improve vision. Making this website has opened my eyes to the many benefits of video games, and it encourages me to continue spreading the message to everyone who does not understand the benefits of video games on a person's health.
